“If I disappeared tomorrow, would anyone even notice?” No one. Evan is sure of it. The very thought of school, of contact with his peers, is unbearable. The noisy crowd, the awkward attempts to strike up a conversation and the lack of a place to escape….
This is the description of the play “Dear Evan Hansen”, which has been on stage at the Poznań Musical Theatre since September. It deals with the extremely important issue of suicide, mental health of children and young people and, among others, their relationship with their parents. To support the theatre’s marketing department, the AdFather agency from Poznań prepared a teaser campaign, which caused a stir among the citizens of Poznań and sparked a much-needed discussion.
In the first stage of the campaign, slogans such as ‘Don’t argue with me!’, ‘In my times there were no such problems’ , ‘I am ashamed of you’, ‘Don’t exaggerate, other people have it worse’ , ‘If you don’t like it here, you can move out’ , ‘Not in a minute, do it now’. They were all accompanied by the question “Do you speak like that to your Child?”.

The recipients were left with this controversial message for a fortnight, when the second, targeted stage of the campaign appeared in place of the negative slogans, with the question: And how often do you say that to your Child?
Billboards, meanwhile, featured slogans such as ‘I’m proud of you’, ‘You can always count on me’, ‘Your problems are my problems’, ‘If it’s important to you, it’s important to me too’, ‘You can tell me anything’.
